Bohdan Szkilnyk

Born October 20, 1921 in Drohobich in the Western Ukraine, Bohdan Szkilnyk lived in the countryside in eastern Europe, until WWII.
When the war ended, he settled in in London England where he acquired the nickname, Johnny. He arrived at Pier 21, in Halifax in 1951, settling in Toronto. He married Helvi Helene, a woman of Estonian descent, in 1970 with whom he lived out his life. He is fondly remembered by Helvi, his stepdaughter Taivi, and her brother, Tarmo.
