Grandfather of Judy, Alyssa, Leon and Marielle. Grandfather-in-law of Jerome and Joe. Great Grandfather of Michael, Florent, Reuben and another one on the way. Beloved Brother to Baba, Pramilla, Vidya and Babish. Predeceased by siblings Krishna, Navin, Deo, Vijai, Ramesh and Subhas. Uncle of Mahase and many others. Beloved “Boss” and Father figure to Vibert Deonarine of Guyana.

Bigyan Chandra was born at Albion in Guyana where he spent his formative years and completed his Primary and Secondary education graduating at the top of his class. He began working for Bookers Sugar Estates as a Clerk in 1951 and subsequently sent on a Scholarship abroad for two years. Upon his return, he rose in the ranks ending his career at Retirement as the Director of Agricultural Operations for the Guyana Sugar Corporation. He was loved and respected by his colleagues who would still call on him from time to time for advice. He was known for being fair, objective and listening before calmly laying out a solution to the problem. He was admired by those that he mentored and was always heartened by the calls of many who checked up on him in his latter years. He was the most loving and dependable Father and Grandfather who was always there to help us navigate life and offer his wisdom. His memory will be forever etched in our hearts and we will miss him forever.

Family and friends will be received at ELGIN MILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd.E., Richmond Hill (east of Leslie St., 905-737-1720) on Sunday, August 27 from 3-7 p.m. and on Monday, August 28 from 10-11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
