It is with great sorrow that we share word of the passing of Beverley Claire Bryant on Tuesday June 30th, 2026. She is survived and profoundly missed by her loving wife Loretta Rowan; her children, Madeline (Sean) and Samuel (Madison); her siblings, Lincoln (Stephanie) and Sandy (Stan); her stepchildren, Callie (Kyle) and Ryan; and her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Griffin, and Violet. She was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Roma; her brothers, Ed and Rick.
She will also be remembered by her first husband and friend, Philip, his wife Nini, and their daughter Julia. In addition, she will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and other family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and love.
Bev’s training as nurse at the University of Ottawa stayed with her throughout her career initially nursing in Vancouver and Saudi Arabia. After returning to Canada, she began work at the Region of Peel taking on various challenges over almost 3 decades. She was loved and appreciated by her colleagues in public health. While working there she supplemented her training as a nurse with a Master of Education. She retired in 2019 and serviced as President of her condominium corporation for numerous years.
After a diagnosis of Stage IV lung cancer in February 2026, she persevered through radiation and chemotherapy until it was clear that the cancer was still advancing. Bev was surrounded by family members at her home after a short, but courageous battle with cancer when she died.
She was an extraordinarily caring and compassionate person who believed in the power of family and people. She fiercely loved her wife, her children and all of her family with her whole being. She enjoyed travel, yoga, meditation, camping, hiking, cooking, reading and listening to the stories of others. Until the very end of her life, she defined her existence with love, honesty, kindness and wisdom.
In honour of her passing, a celebration of life will be held on Friday July 10th, 2026, at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral at 7732 Mavis Road between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed and a link will be provided on this site. We thank you for your kindness and support in this time of mourning.
