Basil Cyril Lawrence Orchard passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Barrie, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife Miriam of 59 years, and two sons, Kevin and Ian. He is survived by his remaining 2 children, Christopher (Stella) and Heather (Mike Warburton) and his grandchildren Jessica, Sarah, Matthew, Cate, MacKenzie, Kayla and Owen. He had lived a long life to 90 years old, practicing medicine for 50 years. He had a lifelong love of being surrounded by nature, whether on land or the water, sailing, music, travelling, and carpentry. He shared these loves with family and friends alike, and encouraged others to develop their passions and interests to the fullest. He had a lifelong attachment to the Olivet New Church in Toronto. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 3 pm at Olivet New Church at 279 Burnhamthorpe Rd, Etobicoke. It will be followed by a light reception in the hall. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to the Olivet New Church.
