Barbara "Bobbie" Kay
November 5, 1921 - October 30, 2013
KAY, Barbara (Bobbie) - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobbie Kay after an extended illness on October 30, 2013 at Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans Wing. Predeceased by sisters Jean (Jimmy) Miller and Shirley (John) Woodward. Much loved sister to Eve (Bill) Cook and cherished aunt to Billy Cook (deceased 1971), Kim (Chuck) Stokes, Marnie (Wayne) Roberts, Frank (Marilyn) Miller and Tina and Sandra Woodward. Bobbie took pride in her career at Cole Steel International and Lytton Industries until her retirement and then became an active member of Ladies Golf Club and the Cricket Club where she enjoyed golf and bridge. She faced tremendous challenges during the last few years of her life and still met each day with a smile. She was a proud veteran (1941 to 1945). Bobbie's family will forever be grateful to the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook Hospital, L-Wing (especially Janet Kenny) for the care and compassion offered to her during her stay from October 2012 until the time of her death. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 30th, 11 a.m. at Pine Hills Visitation Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
