Passed away peacefully on Monday March 9, 2026 at the age of 90.

Athina, beloved wife of the late Christos Skoufranis. Cherished and greatly missed by her children Danny (Ann), Chrissa and Deana (Kevin). She is forever remembered by her treasured grandchildren George (Dawn), Christopher, Paul, Danielle and Sydney and great grandchildren Lauren and Mia. Predeceased by her parents John and Penny Damianidis and brother Louis.

Athina will be held dear in the hearts of many family, relatives, and friends.

Athina, born in the village Drenoveny (Kranionas) Greece, immigrated to Canada in October 1959 along with her two children Danny and Chrissa, to join her husband/dad Chris. She worked hard in many different jobs to give her family a good life. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and visiting with family and friends. One of her hardest times was taking care of her husband for many years, at home, when he fell ill. After that time, she really enjoyed her outings, meeting up with friends and relatives at various coffee places, parks and events. She was an avid seamstress, gardener, loved flowers and made the best pita, bread, pizza and cookies.

Visitation will take place at the Elgin Mills Funeral Centre (1591 Elgin Mills Rd. East, Richmond Hill) on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Visitations will continue Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Elgin Mills Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. in Section 8.
