Tom Fotopoulos was a devoted husband, father, pappou, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Born in Kastoria, Greece, Tom moved to Toronto with his parents, Frances and Lambros Fotopoulos, and his younger brother Paul, who remains his beloved surviving sibling.
Tom is lovingly remembered by his wife Susan with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage back in May; his children Larry and Diane (Nathan); and his cherished grandchildren Zoe and Max, who brought immense joy to his life.
Tom was a man who loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved — sharing stories, laughter, and time together. A man of quiet strength and generosity, Tom expressed his love by always being there to lend a hand, fix what was broken, and care for those he cherished.
He devoted over 30 years to Imperial Life (now Desjardin), starting at the ground level and steadily earning his way to a property manager role through hard work, integrity, and determination.
Tom was known for his gift of working with his hands and could often be found busy with a project — fixing, building, or creating something special. He took great pride in the skills he developed over the years and was always eager to share his knowledge and lend a hand to anyone in need. His eyes always brightened when his grandchildren picked up tools to help him with a project.
Although he didn’t spend as much time fishing or hunting in later years, Tom’s love for the outdoors remained strong. He enjoyed swapping stories from his younger days, and when his grandchildren brought their fishing gear to the cottage, he was always eager to see what was in their tackle boxes and share in their excitement.
Tom’s family and friends will carry his kindness, his example, and his love with them always. His legacy of devotion, hard work, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
