It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Aruna Bhapkar (née Jadhav), who passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 20, 2025, in Toronto, after spending cherished time with her family.
Born in Kolhapur, India, to Vithojirao and Pramila Jadhav, Aruna often reminisced about her wonderful childhood — growing up across India as an army kid, spending carefree summers with cousins in Kolhapur, and later attending boarding school and Fergusson College in Pune.
In 1969, she married her beloved husband, Vishram, and moved to Canada. Though adapting to a new country came with challenges, she faced them with resilience and grace, building a rich life full of friendship, family, and laughter.
Aruna is survived by her husband Vishram, her sons Rohit (Jaswinder), Neil (Smriti), and Jai, her grandchildren Amara, Raiya, Misha, and Milan, and her sister Leela in India. She will be remembered for her compassion, strength, and devotion to her family.
