Continued on his journey onward, while surrounded by comforting members of his loving family and friends in his home, following an arduous illness on November 25th,2014 in his 77th year.
Cherished Father of Italo (Michelle), Teresa (Bruno), Robert (Lisa) and Tim (Wang).
Proud Nonno to Alessandra Axelsson (Phil), Desiree (Neil), Francesca, Anthony and Robert.
Loving spouse of Linda Liu.
Beloved husband of Rosaria Cirone.
Predeceased by his parents Carmelo Sabato and Maria Teresa Mucciato and brother Amleto.
Survived by his brothers Gianni and Luciano (Luciana) and sisters Ida and Marisa.
Antonio will always be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
His charismatic personality and impeccable social skills were defined by tact, diplomacy, charm and practicality. Always well groomed and having a heightened sense of elegance that left the room with just the slightest and most subtle hint of his presence from his Davidoff Cool Water scent trailing lightly through the air.
Antonio was born in Lecce, Italy. Although he immigrated to Canada at the age of 22, a country he was profoundly proud to be part of, he never wavered from his strong Italian heritage. Being an avid soccer fan, his blood bled of a different colour of blue; Azzurri Blu. Best remembered ending many a conversation, fist clenched high above his head, especially every 4 years, announcing “Forza Italia”. Not only an F1 enthusiast but also an accomplished car-racing competitor in his own right. He navigated and manoeuvred his life the way he may have driven one of his many race cars; with unbridled precision, and a steadfast dogged determination and persistence that would ultimately lead him to his podium. This intelligent and clever world traveler had the gift of communication. A brilliant story teller that often captivated his diverse audiences with courageous adventures that not only educated but entertained and had a poignant message. He was a member of the Order of the Knights of Malta and founding member of the Ontario Formwork Association. In addition to his loving family, Antonio leaves a legacy in his adoptive City of Toronto in many a skyscraper and condominium. The irony is that the very substance of the concrete that “formed” the “foundation” of his livelihood actually mimics the characteristics of the individual. Strong and resilient.
He indulged himself with many delicious excesses of beautiful things. A passionate connoisseur that always was one to favour a savory meal and fine wine during an inspiring conversation; an appreciative Art and Automobile Collector.
Many thanks to Val, Ben and Verna (mum) and all the PSW support staff from Premier Health Care, which respectfully and sensitively assisted in such a difficult time. Your efforts are highly appreciated.
