<div itemprop="description">It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Antonia Silveira Freitas on July 8, 2015 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, following a battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved son Helder, his wife Nina, her granddaughter Andrea (her &ldquo;Princess&rdquo;), her sister Alda, brother Orlando and his wife Gloria and her nephew Karl. In memory of Antonia and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Herbie Fund at SickKids Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. <br /><br />Her son Helder and all her family wish to thank the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook Hospital for their special care and attention over the past six months. According to the nurses, she was a model patient.<br /><br />Antonia wished to be cremated and returned to her &lsquo;home&rsquo; &ndash; Flores, Azores, Portugal &ndash; to be laid to rest near her parents Antonio Louren&ccedil;o da Silveira and Maria Adelaide Furtado. As a result, there will be no interment as part of the Memorial Gathering. Helder and family will be travelling to Flores, Azores next summer to carry out her wish.<br /></div>
