Peacefully, in her 91st year, Anthoula Florence Zivontsis passed away on Mother’s Day—a fitting farewell for a beautiful woman whose life was defined by love, kindness and above all devotion to her family.
Born August 28, 1935 in Konomladi (Makrochori) Kastoria, Greece to Tsilo and Pena Mitsovidis.
Anthoula immigrated to Canada in search of a better life, where she built a home grounded in faith, resilience and family traditions.
She was the beloved wife to the late Dimitri James Zivontsis, devoted mother to Mike (Brooke), Penny and Bill. She was a proud and loving Yiayia to grandchildren Shawn (Jayanshu), Jake and Jason. Beloved sister to the late Alexandra Giutsos ( Bill), loving sister to late Mitcho and loving Aunt to Sam (Betty) and Helen (Terry) and great aunt to their children. Anthoula was beloved Sister-in-Law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Anthoula’s kitchen was the centre of many family gatherings, especially remembered for her incredible cooking and baking and her famous cheese pitas.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
MAY HER MEMORY BE ETERNAL
