Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Anna Eva Wishart, nee McLellan. Anna died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on August 27, 2026, at 8:15 PM in Pickering, ON. Anna was born on Sept 21, 1947, in Glasgow, Scotland, to John and Maisie McLellan. She is survived by her three daughters, Anna-Marie, Angela (Ian Portsmouth), and Andrea and grandchildren Mackenzie, Ella, Lily and Georgia; sister Roseleen (George Brown), brothers Jimmy, Charles and Tommy (Sheila McLellan) and many nieces and nephews in Scotland.
In 1970, Anna immigrated to Canada with her husband, Robert, and their daughters, Anna-Marie and Angela. They made Canada their home, where Anna and Robert welcomed their third daughter, Andrea. Anna devoted herself to raising her three daughters and, after many years of dedicated service with the Toronto Police Service, retired in 2012.
Anna was a sweet and kind soul who brought warmth and joy to the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a deep love of music and drawing, and was known for her open heart and non-judgmental nature. She welcomed everyone with kindness and acceptance and had a wonderful sense of humour, always finding a way to make those around her laugh.
Throughout her life, Anna was a loyal and loving wife, a selfless and devoted mother to her girls, a cherished grandmother, a loving sister, and a best friend to many. Her kindness, generosity, humour, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Ajax/Pickering Lakeridge Health Palliative Care team, including Dr. Tran and nurse Francis, Dr. Konstantinos Tselios and the team at the Toronto Western Lupus Clinic, the Mount Sinai Heart Function Clinic, especially Dr. Suzanna Mak and Vimy Bernard as well as all who cared for her over the last years of her life including her sister Roseleen and her best friend Loretta.
The family will be having a private service followed by a Celebration of Anna’s Life at R Garden Boutique* on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM.
