Andrew Wai-Ming Lam of Markham, Ontario, was born in Hong Kong on October 4, 1938, and passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at the age of 87.
He grew up in Hong Kong and completed post secondary education in Melbourne, Australia. Andrew and his wife (Nancy Yee-Kam Lam who passed on in August 2013) immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1967. There, he started his medical health career at Sunnybrook Hospital, along with subsequent commercial ventures, before retiring from Scarborough General Hospital over 25 years ago. Andrew was also a pioneer in the Agincourt Chinese Community, running a grocery store and a well-known Chinese restaurant.
Andrew was a devoted husband of his late wife, Nancy; loving father of Melissa (Bill), Wendy (Wayne), and his late daughter, Cindy; and proud grandfather of Trevor, Catriona, and Callista.
Andrew will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his musical talents, his love for travel, and the cherished time spent with them.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation in his memory.
