Andrzej (Andrew) Lysakowski July 7, 1931 - December 26,2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrzej Lysakowski. He died peacefully in his 94th year at the Ukranian Canadian Long Term Care Centre (UCC) with his beloved wife Janina and daughter Dorothy by his side.

As a young teen, at only 13, Andrzej courageously served in the Warsaw Uprising, with the Polska Armia Krajowa (Polish Home Army), answering the call of duty during a challenging time in history. His service was an important chapter of his life, one he carried with humility, patriotism and pride.

Andrzej immigrated from Poland and made Canada home in the 1960s. It is at that time, he met his wife Janina. He worked very hard all his life, even working overseas for many years, and took pride in providing for his family. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends and travelling with his wife.

He was a devoted husband, supportive father/ father-in-law and proud “Dziadek” to his grandchildren.

Andrzej is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Janina and his children George Lysakowski (Elizabeth), Magdalena Percy (Rob) and Dorothy Lamb (Doug). He will be missed by his grandchildren; Katie, Alex, Allie, Justine, Amelia, Natalie and Audrey; great-grandchildren Oliver and Alice.

His family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of UCC for their kindness and support.

Andrzej will be remembered for his service to his native country, his strength of character, and the love he shared with his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
