Andrew Han Ying Eng, 79, of Toronto, passed away on November 18, 2025, surrounded by his family at home.

Andrew was born on May 15, 1946, in Toishan, China. After emigrating to Canada, he grew up in Montreal before eventually settling in Toronto. After earning his CA designation as an accountant, he began his career in finance and later became an entrepreneur, opening the first Mandarin restaurant franchise location in Mississauga.

Andrew will be remembered for his passion for home renovations, generosity, love of Mah Jong, and his ability to eat his weight in rice. His work ethic was nothing short of extraordinary, approaching every task with steadfast determination and a tireless drive that inspired those around him. Most of all, he dedicated himself to his family—together with his wife built a loving home where their children grew up filled with love, strength, and encouragement, always ready to lend a hand whenever asked.

He is survived by his wife Sharlene and children Brandon, Robb, and Lianne, who will continue to honour his legacy and the Eng family name for generations to come.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the love and support they have received, as well as to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and care teams at North York General Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Bridgepoint Hospital, and Toronto General Hospital.
