It is with profound sadness that the family of Anastasio ‘Tom’ Sotirakos announces that he passed away at the age of 60 years.
Tom will be deeply missed by his mother Marina, sister Toula, brother John (Eria), nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Tom was predeceased by his father, Constantinos (Gus) and brother-in-law, Stavros Germanakos.
Tom was born on September 20, 1965, in Toronto and went to school in Agincourt. Tom loved to read and travel, and he lived life on his terms. He was a great conversationalist and always brought joy and laughter to all family gatherings. In 2001, Tom moved to Alberta and enlisted with the PPCLI (Princess
Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry). Although he never served overseas, he wore his uniform proudly. After completing his service with the PPCLI, Tom remained in Alberta and worked in the security industry.
Sadly, Tom suffered a heart attack while on holidays in Havana, Cuba. He died on October 26, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, and in his memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
