The passing of Anastasia Ioannou on Wednesday August 5, 2026 at the age of 96 brought great sadness to our family.
She will be deeply missed and remembered by her son Chris (Sylvia), daughter Christine (Paul), grandchildren Angela (John), Theodore (Elizabeth), Mark (Emerald), Peter (Danijela) and Thomas, and great grandchildren Niko, Edward, Elliot, Leo, Layla and Miles.
Anastasia was born on October 25, 1929 in the village of Poliplatanos, Greece. On May 22, 1955 she married Theodoros and a year later their son Chris was born and after 6 months they came to Canada. Their loving daughter Christine was born 6 years later.
Anastasia’s husband Theodoros died in 2021 and we give her credit for living by herself for 5 years. She loved to knit, cook and tend to her garden.
Anastasia was a great babysitter for her grandchildren, and she loved her great grandchildren as well. It just so happens that she had 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter and the same number of great grandchildren: 4 boys and 1 girl.
We love you a lot and you will be forever in our hearts. Thanks, Mom, for everything that you have done for us.
