AMY BROWNE
May 12, 1922 – May 10, 2014

Always loved - it is with sadness that Tara and Richard announce the passing of their mother Amy, at home, 2 days shy of her 92nd year. Amy was born and educated in Vancouver. After the Canadian-Japanese internment during the war, she moved to Montreal, and in 1955, married her darling, Ota, who had a great passion for life. Together, they raised a family, and made their home in Toronto. Amy was passionate about many things; her family, finance, fairness, opera, singing, tennis, and anything to do with nature or animals. A voracious reader and news-monger, she had a curious nature, and believed in expressing her point-of-view, whether popular or not. That, sprinkled with a good dose of feistiness and discipline, stood by her in the toughest times during her life. Amy was also very private, a pillar of strength, with a deep caring spirit. She had a huge warm heart, and selfless character, in her treatment of others. Mom, we will forever remember your constant love & affection, warm smile and strength, you will be unbelievably missed! A private service will be held at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Thursday, May 15, 2014
