It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mr. Amir Masoud Hessami Boushehri, who passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by the love of his family.

Amir Masoud was born on May 13, 1932, in Tehran, Iran, to Seyed Hossein Hessami Boushehri and Hajieh Fakhr Iran. Because of his father’s work as Governor of Bushehr, Dashtestan, and Dashti, he spent part of his childhood in southern Iran and Shiraz. When he was only ten years old, he lost his father. His devoted mother raised him with strength, determination, and an unwavering belief in the importance of education. Her love and resilience became the foundation upon which he built his life.

From childhood, he was endlessly curious. He loved languages, art, books, and discovering new places. Learning was never simply something he did—it was part of who he was. He often said that the world was full of things worth understanding, and he never stopped asking questions.

His love of knowledge led him to study Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tehran before continuing his education in England and the Netherlands. He returned home not only with advanced degrees but with a lifelong desire to teach and inspire others. As a professor of thermodynamics at Tehran Polytechnic University, he found joy in helping young engineers grow and in building opportunities for future generations. Later, he served his country as a senior technical consultant on energy affairs, always approaching his work with integrity and a deep sense of responsibility.

In 1965, he married the love of his life, Vajihe Larijani. Together they shared more than sixty years of love, partnership, and unwavering devotion. They built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and encouragement, raising four children—Morvarid, Maryam, Alireza, and Hossein—who were the center of his world. Becoming “Grandpa” to Parham, Parsa, Kimia, and Misha brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

In 2010, Amir Masoud and his wife began a new chapter in Toronto, Canada. He embraced his new home with the same enthusiasm that had guided him throughout his life. He loved swimming, exploring the city, attending library programs, meeting people from different backgrounds, and continuing to learn every day. He never stopped being curious, and he never stopped believing that it was possible to make a meaningful contribution wherever life took him. Through the Iranian Engineering Society of Ontario, he continued mentoring younger engineers and sharing the knowledge he had accumulated over a lifetime.

Those who knew Amir Masoud will remember not only an accomplished engineer and professor but a truly kind and gentle man. He listened more than he spoke, treated everyone with respect, and had a remarkable ability to make people feel valued. He found joy in simple moments, believed in lifelong friendship, and approached life with humility, grace, and quiet optimism.

To us, he was much more than his accomplishments. He was our source of wisdom, our steady presence, our greatest supporter, and the person who taught us—through his own example—that a meaningful life is built on kindness, curiosity, hard work, and love.
Although our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the ninety-four years we were blessed to share with him. His love will continue to guide us, his values will live on through his family, and his memory will forever remain a blessing.

He will be missed beyond words and loved always.
