It is with deep love and a heavy heart that we share the passing of Allen F. Ford. He was a devoted husband, proud father, cherished grandfather, and loyal brother. Allen left us peacefully on July 15, 2025 at the age of 79.
His life was grounded in family, guided by a steady sense of integrity, and lit up by his love of film. Whether he was quoting lines from his favorite classics or rallying everyone for movie night, Allen had a way of turning small moments into lasting memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Claudette Ford (née Arsenault). Her constant love and companionship over the last 45 years were the foundation of a beautiful life they built together. Allen was a proud father to Christina Ford (Al Smith), Tammy Chaney (Richard Chaney), and Jon Ford (Michelle Ford) who each carry his strength, sense of humour, and kindness with them.
As a grandfather, Allen poured love and laughter into the lives of Megan Chaney, Josh Chaney, Page Chaney, Stacy Uschner, Zachary Uschner, Allen Smith Jr., Alyssa Correia, Christian Correia, and Shelby Ford. He shared his stories, his gentle wisdom, and that unmistakable sparkle that made every visit something special.
He was also a devoted brother and a true friend, the kind of person whose loyalty and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Allen is survived by his siblings Stan Ford (Donna Ford), Frank Ford (d. Jan Ford), Brian Ford (Errol Gomes), Lynne Vanin (Marty Vanin), Rosemarie Welsh, and predeceased by Bob Ford and Mike “Gus” Welsh (Lorraine Welsh).
And of course, we’ll never forget his quick wit. Allen had a gift for dad jokes and always seemed to beat you to the punchline, no matter how clever you thought you were. His humor was effortless and had a way of lifting the mood, making an ordinary day feel a bit brighter.
Allen lived a life filled with love, purpose, travel, and heart. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Instead of flowers, the family invites you to honour his memory by watching one of his favourite films and if the mood strikes, sharing a joke he would’ve appreciated.
