<div itemprop="description">With great sorrow yet much thankfulness for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Alida Fridenbergs (nee Cinis) in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Antons (Deceased), wonderful mother to Saiga Fridenbergs and Zinta Erdmanis. Adored grandmother to both Ava and Emma. Cherished mother-in-law to Edmund. Alida also leaves behind much-loved nieces Inez and IIona and nephew Raitis. She will be missed by many friends and family in North America and Latvia. Alida was born in 1921, the youngest of four children in Latvia. As a Young woman, she met the man of her dreams, Antons and at the age on 21 they married. By now, Latvia was invaded by both the USSR and Nazi Germany, so mom and dad escaped to Sweden. There, they worked hard, loved and laughed. In late 1940s they immigrated to Canada, where they built a new life and started their family. Mom was the best parent and confidante any child could wish for. She supported us through all of our challenges and joys. Her love for her granddaughters knew no bounds. Alida touched many lives with her quiet wit and charm. Our mother had a quiet demeanor that never sought the limelight, but she truly was the glue in our family. She was the perfect foil to Dad's exuberance and bonhomie. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of travelling throughout the world. Frist with Dad and later with her daughters and their families. Our family would like to thank Kristus Darzs Latvian Nursing Home for the exceptional love and care they provided for mom throughout the four years that it was her home.</div>
