Alan passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Ramona and son, Wayne.
Alan was born and raised in Bombay, a vibrant cosmopolitan city in India. He worked in Dubai, UAE, for about 19 yrs until he made Canada his home when he immigrated with his family in 1995 and settled in Toronto, Ontario.
Alan worked mostly as a clerk and was a master typist that no one, not even the Gen Z generation with their speech clocking in at 160 to 180 words per minute, could compete with his speed typing. He was an ardent soccer/football fan and always over excited to watch soccer with his friends. His favourite soccer teams were Manchester United and Liverpool (UK)
Many may be unaware that Alan was an enthusiastic pianist, having done his piano theory certification at the Trinity College London (Bombay location). He was a die-hard Beatle fan. He took a Beatle tour while on his trip to the UK but slept through it until he had to get off to visit their homes. He even made his way to sing a Beatle song "I saw her standing there " with a street band at a Blackpool street festival . Alan never missed the opportunity to do a sing-a-long of Beatle songs at parties and get the crowd going. If the party got boring, Alan was their "wake up guy and light of the party" . Hilariously, he would start a song and have the crowd continue and if lost with the words, he would interrupt with La Bamba by Ritchie Valens or Beautiful Sunday by Daniel Boone, thus confusing the crowd as to which song to join in.
Rest in peace Alan. You will be missed.
