It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ahmad Zarif on March 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Ahmad was born on February 4, 1947, in Mashhad, Iran. In 1988, he came to Canada in pursuit of a better life for his family, a decision that reflected his courage, determination, and deep love for those closest to him.

Ahmad was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maryam, and a proud and loving father to Danny (Kelly), Shermin (Hanieh), and Sherry (Marlon). He was a cherished grandfather to Mercede, Keon, Kaya, Summer, Ashton, Ryan, Rylie, and Adrian, with whom he shared a very special bond. His family meant everything to him, and he fought bravely to remain with them until his very last breath.

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. Ahmad was hardworking, giving, and never afraid to take risks in order to provide for his loved ones. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time at home surrounded by his family. He was an avid sports fan who particularly enjoyed watching hockey and basketball.

Ahmad leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication that will continue to live on through his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East
Friday, March 27th - 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SickKids Foundation in Ahmad’s honour.
