<div itemprop="description">AGNES WITZKE, 84 <br /> <br />Funeral services for Agnes Witzke, 84, of Toronto will be held at 11:00am Wednesday June 10, 2015 at York Cemetery &amp; Visitation Centre Chapel, which is located at 160 Beecroft Rd. Toronto, ON. Burial will take place at York Cemetery following the funeral service. <br /> <br />The family will greet friends and family from 1:00 &ndash; 3:00pm, and from 7:00 &ndash; 9:00pm on Tuesday June 9, 2015 at York Cemetery &amp; Visitation Centre. There will be an additional visitation from 10:00-11:00am on Wednesday June 10, 2015 before the funeral service. <br /> <br />Agnes passed away Friday June 5, 2015 shortly before 9am at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in Toronto, due to complications she suffered from a major stroke she experienced at home Friday May 29, 2015. <br /> <br />Agnes was born June 22, 1930 in Szulec, Poland, the daughter of Friedrich and Albertine (nee Wolff) Gabriel. She married Julius Witzke on October 11, 1952 in Krefeld, Germany. He preceded her in death April 26, 1986. They were married for 33 years before his untimely passing. <br /> <br />Agnes Witzke went to school for business in Dusseldorf Germany. She came to Canada with Julius on May 4, 1953. With Julius she acquired a 20-unit apartment building in Toronto in January 1964, and she successfully managed this apartment building until 2010. <br /> <br />Agnes is survived by her children and their spouses; Ed Witzke and Kathy Turner of Toronto, ON, and Linda and Jeff Scott of Ajax, ON; 4 loving grandchildren Benjamin and Amanda Scott, and Claire Turner Witzke and Anna Turner Witzke. <br /> <br />In addition to her husband, Agnes was preceded in death by a sister Klara Wolff in 2013. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.com), or the Alzheimer&rsquo;s Society of Canada (www.alzheimer.ca). <br /></div>
