Agnes Catherine Colmer
Agnes passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Henry Colmer. She will be deeply missed by her family; daughter Rojeanne and her husband Jim Allworth, Rod and his wife Marlene, Neil and Janis, grandchildren David, Ryan, Chris and his wife Tina and her sister Nancy, Corinne, Rod, Suzanne and her husband Bryan, Kate and Vonn, Ry and great-grandchildren Jessie Marie, Richard, Jami and Sean. Agnes had a remarkable life. She graduated from Saskatoon City Hospital in 1939 and shortly after married Tom, an RCMP officer. Stationed in small towns in Saskatchewan, moving every two years, many times the only heath practitioner in the town, all this she handled with humour and grace. Tom retired from the RCMP and they moved to Scarborough where Agnes continued to nurse and raise her increasingly large family. She enjoyed and excelled at curling, golf and horseshoes. For those of us whose lives were touched by her wisdom, grace, integrity, kindness and humour, words could not possibly express what a truly remarkable woman she was. She will be missed more than words can say. A tribute to Agnes’s life will take place at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Tuesday, July 16 at 2 p.m. with Visitation one hour prior.
