<div itemprop="description">It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Acharya Matadial, aka Chris: Sunrise &ndash; January 18, 1951; Sunset &ndash; April 15, 2014. Cherished son of the late Nandalall Matadial and Inranie (Rajo) Matadial, formerly of Guyana. <br /> <br />Chris passed away while he and his mother were holidaying in Guyana. He leaves behind his mother, four brothers &ndash; Prakash, Vijay, Rory, Bharrat, two sisters &ndash; Hemdira and Debbie,his two loving children, Valerie and Vishan, and many sisters-in-law (Gloria, Angie, Desiree, Sonia), brothers-in-law (Krishna and Mickey) and two grand-children. <br /> <br />Chris received his early education at All Saints&rsquo; Anglican School and later the Berbice Educational Institute. After graduation, Chris went into his family business in which he operated and maintained the family vehicles. Chris migrated to Canada in 1972 and attended welding school in Waterloo, Ontario. After he received his certification, he worked for Clemmer&rsquo;s Industries in Waterloo as a welder for twenty years, then moved to Mississauga where he established his own trucking business. <br /> <br />Chris was always endeared to his beloved Guyana in which he loved his travels and extended his helping hand to family and friends there. He was a talented canvas painter and his magnum opus depicting the Palmyra residence with their bus &ldquo;Lady Lindy&rdquo; prominently parked in the yard. <br /> <br />Chris will always be remembered for his effervescent smile and his soft-spoken voice and will be missed by all. <br /></div>
