Alfred John (AJ) MacDonald, 32, a beautiful soul taken too soon on February 14th 2020.
He will be forever remembered for the many years of loving life and living it to the fullest as a son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
AJ was born January 12, 1988 in Toronto and was raised in Mississauga. He was the rambunctious and tender hearted baby of his family. Always the champion of the underdog, he would step up to help anyone he thought needed protecting. With his golden hair and mischievous grin AJ made life long friends wherever he went and touched so many.
He was so much more than his addiction. He was the light of our parents eyes, a hands on dad, the protective brother, the goofy uncle, the best friend, a natural athlete, an artist and he could clear any dance floor. Till his final day he was loyal and loving despite his battle.
He is met on the other side by his father Alfred MacDonald and mother Brenda MacDonald. He was their golden boy.
AJ leaves behind his beautiful children Brooke, Alfred (Alfie), Jaxx and Noah; sisters Racheal and Victoria; brother Christopher; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. AJ lost the love of his life Amanda when she passed and had a special place in his heart for Kylie.
AJ’s death has left a huge hole in many hearts. His family encourages you to celebrate his life. We ask that you love unconditionally those around you and support the ones that need a hand up. If you are struggling yourself with addiction we want you to use his life to turn yours around, please seek help. Never forget that you are meant for more.
We encourage you to share your memories and stories, and to share the pain of your loss as well. In this way we will keep the gift of AJ’s life alive and his children will know their father.
We will be returning AJ to a little, Cape Breton cemetery to rest with his adoring mother and father.
So sleep on, dearest brother. May you find rest in the presence of God and the arms of our parents. In the end find the peace that eluded you in life and know that you are forever loved.
