Mr. Yun Peng Tseng, born on August 15, 1932, in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China, went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2025, at the age of 93.
He was the beloved son of Dr. Cheng Kui Tseng and Ms. Nu Ying Yeh, and older brother of Ms. Jeanlie Tseng and Dr. William Tseng. He grew up surrounded by the love and care of his grandparents and uncles, spending sixteen cherished years in a large and nurturing family.
In 1949, the family relocated to Taiwan, where he was guided and nurtured by his fourth uncle, Cheng Fa Tseng, and his devoted mother. He later graduated from the College of Agriculture at National Chung Hsing University, laying the foundation for a lifelong bond with nature.
After graduation, Mr. Yun Peng Tseng began his career with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Soil and Water Conservation Division, riding his motorcycle daily through the mountains and fields. Though the work was demanding, it strengthened his resilience and character. In 1970, he was assigned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs to Lesotho, South Africa, to assist in agricultural development for two years. After returning to Taiwan for a year, he went on to serve at the Mitsubishi Pineapple Plantation in Thailand for six years, managing more than 300 employees and labouring tirelessly under the tropical sun, returning to his family in Taiwan only once a year.
Due to political unrest in Southeast Asia, he resigned and moved with his family to Paraguay, South America, where they reunited and engaged in the restaurant and boutique business. Four years later, prioritizing his children’s education, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, where the family settled and built their home.
Mr. Yun Peng Tseng met his wife, Ms. Chung Hwa Chen, in Taiwan, and together they built a family, raising three children and sharing sixty-one years of life’s journey. After retiring at 67, the couple travelled widely, enjoying the beauty of nature and the freedom of their later years. Last year, they celebrated their 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary, receiving congratulatory certificates and letters from the King and Queen of the United Kingdom and the Governor General of Canada. By God’s grace, though much of his life was spent abroad, he finally found peace and stability in Canada, with his children completing their studies and establishing happy families of their own.
Gentle and soft-spoken by nature, Mr. Yun Peng Tseng deeply loved his children and grandchildren, often accompanying them to and from school and caring for his family with quiet devotion. Over the years, he found endless joy in tending flowers and gardens at both his own home and his children’s residences, always delighting in nurturing life and beauty. He will be remembered with profound love and respect by all who knew him.
Mr. Yun Peng Tseng is survived by his beloved wife, Chung Hwa; daughter Melody (married to Ted) and grandchildren Joshua and Caleb; son Benjamin (married to Jocelyn) and grandchildren Christopher and Carina; and daughter Joy (married to David) and grandchildren Luke and Lauren, who will forever treasure his love, guidance, and enduring legacy.
May Mr. Yun Peng Tseng rest in the loving arms of the Lord, enjoying peace and joy in His eternal home, until the day we are reunited in Christ.
