William Gordon Bullock - after a brief illness, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family at Credit Valley Hospital on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Beloved husband of Anna and cherished father of his children; Shona (Peter), Chris (Raffaela), and Tara (Marie). Loving grandfather of CJ (Tressa) and Daniel (Nayiri) and great grandfather of Sophia and Beckham.

Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ruth, brother, Bruce and sister, Marlene. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family, here in Canada. Over the years he developed a special relationship with his Australian family of nieces, nephews and in-laws and will be sorely missed by them; especially niece, Laura. He will also be missed by his friends from the TPUG days, as well as his group of "Silver 7" ladies who delighted in his banter, wit and generosity in driving them to Union station when they were off to their trips.

William (Bill) was born on December 22, 1935 in Griffin, (Stanstead) Quebec. As a child, sitting in a pretend cardboard box airplane, William always knew that he wanted to be a pilot and in 1956, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was assigned training course #5609 and graduated in Centralia, ON in 1957. Over the next several years he was stationed in Portage Le Prairie, MB, Cold Lake, AB, St Hubert, QC, and Red Deer, AB. He was ultimately assigned a flying instructor position. In 1961, while serving in Red Deer, William was involved in a plane crash that broke his back. His recovery was long and difficult but eventually he was able to walk again and reclaim his life. In 1965, he received, what was considered a dream posting, to the Sabre Transition Unit at RCAF Stn Chatham, in New Brunswick where he continued to serve as a flying instructor. In 1966, Bill mustered out of the Air Force and accepted a position with Air Canada, in Toronto, as a commercial pilot. He retired from Air Canada in December 1991.

William led a very full life and was a man of many talents and creativity. He was never without a camera; he wrote scripts and directed home movies on his Super 8 film. When digital recording came out he changed gears and became a videographer. He had many hobbies including teaching himself guitar and a love for chess. Whether instructing, in the RCAF or in schools teaching chess, he navigated both with the same passion, commitment and approach; always wanting his students to achieve their goals. He entered the computer age, at its infancy, and developed a printer chip for, the now long forgotten, Commodore 64. He was fortunate to travel the world but was also a contented homebody who, was a lifelong DIYer, puttering in his workshop, doing home repair or building an elaborate pond in his backyard. He could always be counted on to be at the family parties, kid's hockey games and our many get togethers.

He will be remembered as a shy, introspective person, with a dry sense of humour and a quiet wit. He will be greatly missed.
