In memory of

Wilfred Robert (Bob) Everist

September 25, 1927 - May 23, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Everist announce his passing on May 23, 2026 at the age of 98 at The Woodhaven Long Term Care Home in Markham. Beloved husband of Barb (deceased 2022) for over 69 years, cherished father of Cathy Vanos (Jack) and Robert Everist (Jane). Loving Grandpa of John Vanos (Helen), Laura Hawkins (Matt), Bryce Everist (Karlee), Kristen Hosick (Jon) and Michelle MacDonald (Andrew). Fondly remembered as GGBob, by great-grandchildren Elena, Jake, Connor, Eleanor, Jackson, Grady, Kennedy, Nolan, Eric, Kinley and Kendal. Bob was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Iva Everist and his sister Anita Davis. He is survived by his brother Barry Everist. Bob had a long and successful career as an elementary school principal before retiring in 1984. Bob was always a true gentleman who, even in very recent times, would offer his seat to you even though he was the one that needed it most. Bob was very active and enjoyed golfing, curling, boating, woodworking and many other activities both at home and at the cottage. He truly enjoyed time spent with family and friends and cherished visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob and Barb also enjoyed many road trips and winters in Clearwater, Florida over the years. A private internment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bob can be sent to the charity of your choice.
