It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Valerie May Liedeman.
Following a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease, Valerie faced her medical
challenges with unwavering strength, grace, and dignity.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, sister Lorraine and brother Keith.
She will be profoundly missed by her beloved children, Neil (Karen) Liedeman and
Mandy Liedeman, her brothers Dennis (Beth) Roberts and Clarence (Hazel) Roberts.

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Valerie made the bold decision to
immigrate to Canada in 1967, where she built a life centred on family and love. She will
be remembered as the heart of the home – devoted, nurturing, and steadfast.
Valerie possessed exceptional talent as a seamstress, creating everything from elegant
draperies to exquisite wedding gowns. Her passion for fashion was evident in her
timeless style, which radiated sophistication and grace. In addition to her artistry, Valerie
was an accomplished cook, renowned for her delicious meals and celebrated for her
extraordinary cakes that brought joy to family and friends alike.
Her legacy of love, creativity and elegance will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will have a private viewing on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
A memorial service will celebrate her life at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre, on Saturday, May
16, 2026.
