Ulinda Persaud was born in Triumph Village in Guyana and was a devoted mother of four children - Desiree, June, Anna and Rudolph.
In her teenage years, she graduated from Teacher's Training College as the top student with the highest marks and the highest level of Teachers College qualifications.
She was a gifted teacher who touched many lives with her kindness, patience and good humour.
Ulinda found happiness in life’s simple pleasures baking cherry cakes, tending to her garden and spending time with family and friends.
She loved reading, travelling, sewing, gardening, loved flowers especially roses and had a green thumb as every plant she touched blossomed and bloomed.
Our mother took care of us and in her later years, relaxed as she no longer enjoyed daily cooking or chores, happily passing those on to others.
She loved adventure and laughter, often spending time with her friends on bus trips, especially at Christmas, to see the Niagara Falls Festival of Christmas Lights as every year this filled her with joy and happiness.
She had a lucky streak at the casinos and delighted in her trips to Miami, Las Vegas, and Fallsview where she enjoyed the buffets and the thrill of winning a few jackpots.
Ulinda loved to go for daily drives admiring the scenery and enjoyed good meals and hot chocolate at favorite spots like Swiss Chalet, Denny’s, Cracker Barrel, Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang.
Her favorite songs “Little Drummer Boy” and John Legend’s “All of Me,” reflected her generous heart and deep love for family.
She will be remembered for her hugs and warmth, laughter, and the gentle spirit that brightened every day and every person she met.
Our lives forever changed on November 15, 2025 and it's hard to imagine it forward without Mom. It is extremely difficult as now we live every day with just memories.
Ulinda Persaud was a kind and gentle soul, she was our beloved mother and will never be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts. Now, she is our beautiful and precious Angel in heaven.
** Eternal rest grant unto Ulinda, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May our dearest, beloved mother rest in peace. Amen. **
