It is with deep sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Thomas William Allan on June 23, 2026, one month shy of his 103rd birthday.
Born on July 31, 1923, in Montreal, Thomas lived a full and long life spanning major historical events including the Great Depression and 5 years of military service in WW II. After the war, Thomas went on to attend McGill University and graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1951. He then married his childhood sweetheart, the late Noreen Mahoney, with whom he shared 64 joyful years of marriage, along with his children, the late Peter, late Catherine, and Mary (Michael). Thomas was also the proud grandfather of Michael (Lindsay) and Jason Fuller, and great grandfather to Lochlan, He will also be remembered by his niece June, and nephews, Robert and John, as well as his cousins.
Thomas was known for his easy-going nature, sense of humor, and kindness to everyone he met. He was an expert duplicate bridge player, enjoyed travel, years of cottage living with the family, and many winters spent in Florida with his late wife.
He met his final chapter with grace and peacefulness, following a brief illness. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him
A private family memorial reception will be held at Thornton Funeral Centre in Oshawa on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 11 am until 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
