FIELD, Sylvia Elizabeth (nee Hocothee) born in Uitenhage, South Africa passed away peacefully in her 99th year at Seniors’ Health Center, Toronto, Ontario.
Sylvia was a quiet, gentle, kind, and gracious woman. She will be lovingly remembered for her good spirits, and tireless dedication and love for her family.
Sylvia was extremely artistic. She created beautiful designs for knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and sewing. She enjoyed gardening and had a very green thumb. Plants thrived under her care. She won many prizes locally and at the Toronto Ex for her skillful flower arrangements.
Predeceased by her husband Harold Norman Field.
She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her; her children: Norma (late Colin), Eric, Rodric (Michele), Gregory (Faye), Nerina (late Tim), Benita (David); 14 grandchildren and spouses; 9 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

Visitation from 1-2 pm
Service at 2 pm
Interment at 3 pm
Reception from 4-6 pm
at York Cemetery and Funeral Center, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto M2N 5Z5
In memory of Sylvia, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Seniors’ Health Center, or The Alzheimer’s Society Toronto would be appreciated by the family.
