It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Zigomanis on July 28, 2024 at the age of 88. He passed away peacefully. Husband to Luba, cherished father to Gloria (Costa), Vangie (Ted) and Danny (Nathalie). Proud Dedo (grandfather) to Johnathan, Steven, James, Angel, Georjenna & Philip.

Steve was born on October 30, 1935 in Banitsa, Florina, Greece to the late Lena & Philip Zigomanis. For a better life and greater opportunities for the children, Steve and Luba immigrated to Canada in 1966 arriving by boat in Halifax and travelled to Toronto to be with family and their much loved Macedonian community. Steve’s first job was with Honeycrust Bakery then proceeded his career driving a dump truck. He worked hard and very long days. He loved to tell stories of how he was part of the construction of the CN Tower, Leslie spit and Highway 407. We loved to know that he left a part of him within and around the city.

Steve was proud to be a Canadian. That did not change the fact that he was also proud of his heritage and homeland. Steve held the honourable position of President of the Banitsa Benevolent Society and was a member for many years.

Steve will be greatly missed by family and friends near and far. Husband, Father, Dedo, Friend, Uncle, Neighbour. Forever cherished, respected and loved ⚘
