In memory of

Stavros (Steve) Kipros

October 29, 1958 - April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steve (Stavros) Kipros, who left us far too soon on April 6, 2026, at the age of 67. A man of immense warmth and unwavering kindness, Steve passed peacefully at Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with complications brought on by heart disease.

Born on October 29, 1958, in East York, Ontario, Canada, Steve was the cherished son of Angelo and Helen Kipros. His parents, who preceded him in death, instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and love for family—a legacy that he carried with grace throughout his life. Steve was also predeceased by his beloved sister, Mary who was an integral part of his cherished family circle.

Steve was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sophie. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and an unbreakable bond. Steve's greatest pride and joy was his son, Billy, who carries forward his father's legacy of kindness and integrity. In the words of Billy, "Dad taught me everything about being a good person, about living life with passion and purpose, and about the importance of family. His guidance was my beacon, and his love, my anchor."

Steve's life was enriched by his relationships with his niece Helen, ( and family ) nephew Billy, and brothers-in-law Peter (and family ), Alex (Gilda) . Steve will be profoundly missed by his extended family and friends, and much loved furry friend Bella.

His love for hockey and baseball was legendary among his family and friends, a sport he played with youthful exuberance and followed with fervent enthusiasm. This was especially clear when it came to his beloved Detroit Red Wings and his hidden love for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Steve's compassionate nature and genuine warmth endeared him to all who crossed his path. He had a knack for making everyone feel valued and heard. Whether lending a helping hand or offering a listening ear, Steve's kindness left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.

Per Steve's wishes, no funeral service or visitation will be held. The family appreciates your understanding and prayers during this time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
In Lieu of Flowers a memorial donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation: https://www.heartandstroke.ca/
The Foundation is also linked under the Donations tab at the top of this webpage.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Toronto General Hospital Heart Unit for their exceptional care, compassion, and tireless efforts in trying to help Steve.

Steve's absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him, yet his spirit lives on through the cherished memories and the love he shared. May his journey beyond be filled with peace, and may his memory continue to inspire acts of kindness.
