It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stan Snaidr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his family.
Born in Bratislava, Stan immigrated to Canada in 1968, beginning a new chapter in a country he would proudly call home. Over the years, he lived in Midland, North York, and finally Mississauga, building a life filled with family, achievement, and lasting memories.
Stan was a brilliant engineer who enjoyed a distinguished career with RBH, where his talent and creativity led to numerous patents for innovative machinery. His professional accomplishments reflected his intelligence, determination, and passion for engineering.
But Stan’s greatest accomplishments were not found in his career. He was, above all, a devoted family man. He shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Eva. Their marriage was the foundation of their family and a testament to a lifetime of love, loyalty, companionship and shared memories. Through every chapter of their lives, they remained devoted to one another. Their bond was something special – built over decades of laughter, challenges, adventures, and the simple comfort of having one another by their side.
Stan was a deeply loving father to his daughter Silvia and their relationship was one of his greatest joys. Silvia was his family, his confidante, and someone he treasured deeply. He was equally proud of his grandson, Davis. Stan cherished watching Davis grow and took particular joy in following his hockey and baseball. Whether cheering from the sidelines or simply spending time together as a family, Stan treasured those moments. Davis brought a special happiness into his grandfather’s life, and he will always remember his grandfather’s encouragement and pride. Stan remained close to Eva’s sister Sylvia and her family, including her husband Milos and their son Michael.
He was very proud of his nephew Michael and all his accomplishments and especially admired his expertise of flying ultralight planes.
Stan loved life and embraced it fully. He was an avid downhill skier and windsurfer, enjoying the excitement and freedom of being both on the slopes and on the water. He loved the beach and especially treasured family time in Longboat Key, where many happy memories were made together. These family vacations were more than trips – they were moments of togetherness that Stan held close to his heart.
Above all Stan was a family man. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by Eva, Silvia, Davis, Steve and those he loved. He had an extraordinary mind, but it was his warmth, devotion, humor and love for his family that people will remember most.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Eva, his daughter Silvia, his son-in-law Steve and his cherished grandson Davis; and all of his family and friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
Stan will be remembered for his brilliance, his dedication to his family, and the love and pride he had for those closest to him. His legacy will live on through Eva, Silvia, Davis and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
May he rest peacefully, forever surrounded by the love of the family he cherished so dearly.
In Lieu of flowers Donation can be made in Stan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
