In Loving Memory of Smiljan “Smiley” Jandric
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Smiljan “Smiley” Jandric, who passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, in Brampton, Ontario, at the age of 66.
Born on December 9, 1959, in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Smiljan was a funny, passionate, stubborn and persistent man who lived life with strength, character and an unmistakable spirit. He brought laughter to those around him, stood firmly by the people and principles he loved, and never gave up when life became difficult.
Smiljan will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Vera Jandric, née Jozic; his daughters, Ela Jandric and Marija Glasnovic, her husband Daniel, and their daughters, Mia and Téa; and his son, Ivan Jandric, his wife, Tanya Maria, and their daughters, Juliana and Daniela. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Ela Vidovic, and her family in Sydney, Australia; his extended family and many friends in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; as well as his many relatives and friends in Canada and around the world.
A devoted family man, Smiljan found happiness in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and following Croatian soccer. He especially cherished the moments shared with his family and the memories created through laughter, conversation and time together. He remained connected to his homeland and treasured the family ties and friendships he maintained in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Smiljan was predeceased by his parents, Marija and Stipo Jandric, and his beloved son, Igor Jandric. It brings comfort to imagine him reunited with them now in a peaceful afterlife.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queen of Peace Norval Croatian Church in Smiljan’s memory.
He will be remembered for his humour, passion, determination and the love he had for his family. Though he is no longer with us, Smiley’s laughter, stories and strong spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
