Siew Fong Chang, born in 1938 in Raub, Pahang, Malaysia, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at a Toronto hospital, surrounded by her son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. A retired nurse and midwife, she spent her life caring for others with a cheerful smile and an open heart. She loved sports in her younger days—especially netball and badminton—and later in life enjoyed family meals, sweet desserts, TV dramas with handsome actors, flowers, and simple outings to the mall. She was famously slow at getting ready, wonderfully generous with gifts, thrifty for herself, and never shy about giving away money or treats to the people she loved.
She leaves behind her three children—Eileen (Melbourne), Lai Lin (Scarborough), and David, with whom she lived with the last 15 years—and five grandchildren: Amelia, Reachelle, Emma, and Annie, and her beloved Daniel who passed in 2020. Known for her kindness, her laughter, her love of gossip magazines, and her endless affection for her family, she will be remembered as one of the sweetest souls, and a grandmother whose love was felt in every smile, and every bag of chocolates or candies she gave out.
We will always love you and remember you in our hearts.
