In memory of

Scott Stennett

July 16, 1971 -  December 23, 2024

Surrounded by his devoted wife, Christina, and loving children, Tyler and Kaitlyn, Scott Paul Stennett passed away peacefully in Toronto on December 23, 2024, at the age of 53. Born on July 16, 1971, in Belleville, Scott lived a life defined by hard work, tenacious positivity, and unwavering kindness. No matter the challenge, he always greeted each day with his signature, luminous smile—lifting the spirits of everyone around him.

Scott took great pride in having been raised in Blenheim, on a farm in rural Ontario, by his supportive and adoring parents, Ron and Donna Stennett. He often spoke of how his early mornings, long hours in the fields, and the camaraderie of his tight-knit community taught him discipline, resilience, and a deep affection for his family and friends. He carried these core values with him throughout his life, remaining steadfast in his devotion and care for those he loved while achieving extraordinary success in his professional pursuits.

An esteemed graduate of Blenheim District High School, Scott later received undergraduate degrees from Western University and the University of Windsor in Business Administration and Finance, respectively. He began his career with RBC Dominion Securities, before then leading technology teams at Fidelity Investments, where he met Christina. In 2003, his career truly took off at various Richardson businesses (Richardson Partners Financial, GMP Securities, Richardson Wealth), where he held multiple leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer and his most recent role as Vice-Chair. Across his academic and professional life, Scott was deeply grateful not only for his accomplishments, but for the remarkable people he was proud to call friends.

While his meticulousness and work ethic certainly stood out, those who knew Scott might best remember him for his friendliness and playful sense of humour. Whether it was his extensive repertoire of witty “dad jokes” or his genuine affection for others, he never failed to fill the room with laughter and warmth. His passion for life and joy led him to explore different parts of the world and engage in outdoor activities such as skiing and golfing, which he greatly enjoyed.

Above all, Scott treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Christina; their two cherished children, Tyler (20) and Kaitlyn (18), who were his greatest pride and joy; his parents, Ron and Donna; and his sister, Tracy. He also leaves behind a close network of relatives and friends, all of whom he held dear. In his final days, Scott often expressed profound gratitude for the life he lived, insisting he was the one truly blessed by those around him.

Scott passed away fulfilled by his journey, comforted by the knowledge that his life had been rich in love and friendship. Funeral services to honour his remarkable legacy will be held at Mt. Pleasant Funeral Centre (details below). In lieu of flowers, donations in Scott’s memory may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation at https://tinyurl.com/scottstennett. Those who knew Scott will forever remember the warmth, perseverance, and kindness he shared. His legacy will remain in our hearts, never to be forgotten.
