With great sadness, Sat Mohinder Pal Kashyap passed away peacefully on Saturday June 6th, 2026, at the age of 81 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. He survived his loving wife Sudesh, who passed away in 2017.
Born in 1944 in Sidhwan, India, Pal was the eldest of three siblings. He spent his early years between India and Kenya, later emigrating with his family to Wolverhampton, England. There, he earned his mechanical engineering degree in 1971, and in the same year, married his beloved wife Sudesh. In 1973, with her support, Pal immigrated to Canada in search of a better life. In 1974 he joined Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) as a nuclear mechanical engineer, dedicating more than 30 years working at various nuclear power projects in Canada and around the world, including sites in New Brunswick, Ontario, Argentina, South Korea, and the United States. Through hard work and determination, he built a strong foundation and better life for his family.
While he enjoyed golfing and going for walks, his greatest pride was his family. Pal was a devoted husband, a loving father to Arun and Tania (daughter-in-law), and a cherished grandfather to both Annika and Arjun, with whom he shared a special, protective bond. His grandchildren felt safe and loved in his presence, and he followed their progress and accomplishments with great pride and unwavering attention. He will be remembered for his resilience, his gentle heart, and the values and virtues he instilled in his family, who are deeply proud of his legacy and grateful for the life they shared with him. May his soul rest in peace as he moves on to the next life.
