Rosa Maria da Rocha, 58, passed away in East York, Ontario, surrounded by loved ones on September 19, 2026.
Rosa was born on August 31, 1968, in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, to Joaquim Moniz and Maria Dos Anjos Martins da Rocha. She worked as a Chef at Zellers for 14 years and a Warehouse Picker at Canadian Tire for 9 years, where she was known for.
Rosa raised three children in a home that she filled with laughter, competition, and baked goods.
She was the mother who participated in the PTA and fought for her children. She was the mother who loved Halloween and scaring the neighbourhood kids. She was the mother who taught us to work hard. She was — and her family will say this plainly — the best of them.
Rosa loved Fleetwood Mac, New Kids on the Block, Garth Brooks, Shaggy, Tim Horton’s coffee, Shadowhunters, horror movies and tv shows, and the Portugal FIFA Team. She was creative and loved crafting and was proud of it.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Daniel; her children, Linsey (Alex), Rebecca, Nathaniel and Annamaria; her granddaughter, Payton; her mother, Maria; her sisters, Helena and Maria, her pets, Korishka, Baxter, Cosmo, Goose and Noodle, and a large, loud family who will never stop missing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joaquim, her sister, Ana, her mother-in-law, Sharon, her father-in-law Gerry, and her pets, Japcow, Billy, Krueger, Pepper, and Jolene.
