WILSON, Rita Ann
Rita passed away peacefully at Fairview Lodge in Whitby on May 19, 2025, in her 82nd year. . Pre-deceased by loving husband Ron Wilson, beloved step-mother of Don & his wife Cheryl, Debbie Badgley & her husband Mike, pre-deceased by John & Eileen Wilson. Proud grandmother of Aleah, Brad(Kristin), Fynn, Sara & John & loving great grandmother of Autumn, Ava, Harlow, Haven, Lincoln & Lawson.
Rita is survived by her sister Peg Morris from Seattle. She will be missed by sister-in-law, Sandra Willsher & husband Ken, Barry Wilson & wife Darlene, Millie Wilson, (pre-deceased by her husband Brian, Colin & Eva Wilson & Joyce Wilson). She will be forever remembered by cousin, Diane Maurice & her daughter Michelle, Carol MacDonald & Lorraine Alles, Don Maurice, The Campbell family & many other extended family.
Rita was raised by her Grandma & Grandpa Bella in Fernie, British Columbia & when she graduated moved to Ontario where she started her career with The Toronto Police Service followed by her extended career as an executive secretary for UCO.
Rita will be remembered for her kindness, compassion & her superior organizational skills. In her retirement she enjoyed working for the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga as well as cruising the Mediterranean with Ken, Carmen & friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nursing staff of Fairview Lodge for their kindness and care shown to Rita and her family. Visitation will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 10 am until time of Celebration of Life in the chapel at 11:00am & followed by a reception at Thornton Funeral Centre @ 12:00 noon.
