Kenneth Frank Richards of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 15, 2026 at the age of 96, following a hard-fought battle with colon cancer.

Ken lived an extraordinary life at full speed. He was a whirlwind of energy that virtually no one could keep up with. He worked hard but enjoyed everything he pursued to the fullest and still managed to get in a few rounds of golf along the way. He was constantly full of ideas and usually had a side hustle or two on the go.

From stock car racing to horse racing, running a hat stand at the CNE, selling Grey Cup souvenirs, and many other ventures—all while working full time at Ontario Hydro for 39 years—Ken simply never stopped. The finish line was never in his sights.

Ken is survived by many family members and dear friends, too numerous to mention here, all of whom will remember his energy, generosity, and entrepreneurial spirit. He touched the lives of everyone he ever met.

Having now joined the many who have gone before him, Ken is undoubtedly already organizing some form of pari-mutuel wagering for whatever they may be racing in heaven.

Wherever there is a starting gate, a crowd, and a little excitement, Ken is surely already there.
