Rex Stuart Smitheman
May 14, 2024 - January 7, 2025
Rex Stuart Smitheman, born on May 14, 2024, left us too soon on January 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Jennifer Louth and Tim Smitheman. Despite his brief time with us, Rex made an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. He was an incredibly brave and joyful boy, always smiling and curious about the world around him. Rex loved playing with his mom and dad, filling their lives with laughter and love.
Rex's spirit will forever be remembered for his warmth, curiosity, and the infectious joy he brought to his family. He will be deeply missed by his parents and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In honor of Rex's memory, the family will be having a private ceremony on January 12, 2025, at the Mt. Pleasant Funeral Centre. At a later date, the family will be hosting a celebration of Rex’s life and launching a foundation in Rex’s name to raise money to fund cancer research. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sick Kids Foundation(link below) in Rex's name.
