It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, Petrula Stavropoulos, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at The Scarborough General Hospital. She journeyed through 90 remarkable years of life, with strength and unwavering devotion.
Born in the small village of Perasma, Greece, on May 16, 1936, Petrula carried the traditions and values of her homeland across the ocean in search of a better life in Canada. Through tireless hard work and incredible resilience in the face of many hardships, she built a strong foundation for her family. Over her nine decades, she witnessed a changing world, created countless cherished memories, and nurtured a large, beautiful family that stands forever as her greatest legacy.
She was the beloved mother of Nick (Cindy), Jim (Mary), Elsie (John), and Stavros, and a dear sister to Tomka, Fila (George), and the late Zhivon and Tom. Throughout her life journey, she shared her years with her late husband, Athanasios. Though she leaves behind those she loved and cared for, we know that she now finds her true peace and a joyous, long-awaited reunion in the loving embrace of her cherished loved ones who went before her in Heaven.
As the heart and matriarch of our family, Petrula was loved, respected, and adored for her boundless warmth, affection, kindness, and generosity. She was a loving and proud Baba to 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren (listed in order of parental birth):
• Amy (János) — children János & Julia
• Jeremy (Kerby) — children Everlee & Paxton
• Christopher (Keri) — children Zack & Zoe
• Daniel (Erin) — children Sam & Max
• Jennifer (Adam) — children Sierra & Hayden
• Stephanie (Cody) — children William, Weston & Evelyn
• Katerina (Stephen) — children Thalia, Pano, & Leo
• Michael (Christina) — child Helios
• Steven (Sacha)

Her wisdom, devotion, and limitless strength will never be forgotten. The memories we share will last forever and the light of her bright spirit will continue to shine on in the children and descendants she so deeply adored.
Goodbye Mom. You will never truly leave us, for a mother’s love is eternal.
Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Forever in our Hearts.
We love you. ❤️
