It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Zimmermann (a.k.a Zimm or Zimmie).
Paul passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, and with the knowledge that he was dearly loved by his family and many cherished friends.

Paul was born in Canada's Centennial year on August 15, 1967, in Stratford, Ontario , to Elfrieda and Walter Zimmermann. He was the beloved husband of Deta Constantine and the proud and loving father of twins, Luke and Emma Zimmermann. Paul is survived by his wife and children, his mother Elfrieda, his sisters Linda Zimmermann-Rempel (Tim Rempel) and Carol Zimmermann (Dominic Chong), sisters-in-law Erica Pierre (Ellis), Jessica Constantine, brother-in-law Andrew Luces (Liz), the Luces and Bharat families, aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews, who Paul adored and who thought he was a super cool guy. He was predeceased by his father Walter Zimmermann, his grandparents, several aunts and uncles and a niece in infancy.

Paul was a dedicated employee of Canada Post for 31 years. This was borne out by the fact that he didn't take a sick day for the first 30 of those years. His most recent position was Manager, OPS Production Control & Reporting. GTA West Delivery, WPDH, Transportation.

Paul was an athlete and an avid sports fan. He played and watched every sport imaginable, but soccer was his passion. This summer he had the opportunity to attend the World Cup match between Portugal and Croatia. A dream come true. Paul was a music lover and possessed a vast knowledge of music across all genres and eras. He loved travel, German and Trinidadian culture, and losing himself in a good book. With each book, he added a few new words to his vast vocabulary. Paul had a sharp, witty sense of humour that kept everyone on their toes.

Paul's memory will live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16 between 6 -8 p.m., and for an hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m. at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga. The service will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in person.

Paul's family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Credit Valley Hospital for not giving up on Paul and for their compassionate care during Paul's hospitalization.
