Born at Toronto's Wellesley Hospital to Gordon Barber and Phyllis, née Gib; received a B.A. from York University in 1970; married on Sept 11th, 1971 in St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna, to Peter Mérey; became an employment counselor with Canada Manpower; then an administrative assistant for Dr. R. Florence and later at CIBC Wood Gundy. Survived by her three children, Sabina (Ken Payette), Céleste and Marguerite (Paul Cheevers). Pamela enjoyed many activities and hobbies. She shone in her creative quilting and sewing projects. As a volunteer, she contributed to community groups, including the West Toronto Junction Historical Society and The Horticultural Societies of Parkdale and Toronto. She looked forward to many Scrabble games with her friends, as well as trips to Europe, Mexico and Jamaica with her husband and family. Pamela was passionate about her health and wellbeing and was an avid attendant at the downtown YMCA where she fostered friendships. Pamela was known for her resilience and strength in the face of challenges, particularly concerning her struggle with ALS.
