It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Om Parkash Mittal, who left us peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the age of 82. He was a cherished husband, a devoted father, and a beloved Nanu and Dadu whose presence brought warmth and strength to all who knew him.
Om lived a full and active life, grounded in love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was known for his quiet generosity, wisdom, and a gentle strength that uplifted those around him. His laugh, his thoughtful advice, and his calming presence were a constant source of comfort and joy to his loved ones.
Om spoke fondly of his childhood in India, a time that shaped his character and values. Though he lived far from his birthplace, he remained deeply connected to his roots and to his beloved siblings. He took great care to stay close to his sisters, Murti, Sevati, and Kamla, and his brothers, Sath, Raghbir, and Rajinder, offering them his unwavering support and affection.
He, alongside his beloved wife, Kusum, travelled the world extensively. These journeys were a source of great joy, and they created countless memories that he cherished. He especially loved a good game of cards and was an avid bridge player.
Om is survived by his loving wife, Kusum, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of partnership and devotion. Together, they built a family rooted in love and mutual respect. He leaves behind his children and their spouses: Veenu and Sharon, Neil and Winnie, and Monica and Ricky, each of whom he guided with steady support and unconditional love.
Om took immense pride and joy in his grandchildren — Vanessa, Khai, Karina, Naya, Nara, Ravin, and Raya. To them, he was more than a grandfather; he was a storyteller, a chess partner, a pillar of wisdom, and a source of endless affection.
He touched the lives of many with his kindness and grace. Om believed in giving freely — of his time, his care, and his heart. Whether it was lending a hand, sharing a kind word, or simply being there when it mattered most, his actions always spoke volumes.
Om Parkash Mittal will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, humility, and kindness will continue to live on through the memories we hold and the values he instilled in us. We are forever grateful for the time we had with him and will carry his spirit with us always.
May he rest in peace.
