It is with deep sadness that the Chow family announces the passing of Ngin You Kwan Chow on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 101 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Chung Chan Chow (2000). She is lovingly remembered by her 6 children: Raymond (Wendy), Chin Chin (John), Yin Yin (Ian), Kam Kam (Anthony), Lily (Frederick), and John (Dale); her 14 grandchildren: Deborah (Ryan), Kimberly, Simon (Linh), Cindy (Alroy), Sandy (Tuan), Edward, Eunice (Carlos), Diane (Donald), Phillip (Kitt), Angela (Christopher), Anita (Jacob), Pamela (Mathew), Stephanie (Jeffrey), and Alexander; and her 18 great-grandchildren: Maya, Jillian, Ian, Brenner, Damon, Kaylie, Alyssa, William, Benjamin, Ryan, Eleena, Emily, Alexandra, Matilda, Sawyer, Finn, Sophia, and Samantha.

Being one of the few girls in her village in China to receive a formal education, Ngin You exceeded expectations from an early age. She later devoted herself to raising her 5 young children in Hong Kong while her husband worked to establish their family’s future in Canada. Through her strength and unwavering dedication, she carried on the responsibility of nurturing her family through a time of great change and uncertainty.

When the family was reunited, Ngin You and her husband built a new life together, added a new son, and started a family business. As the beloved matriarch of the Chow family, she built a legacy of love and strength that continues to live on through the generations of family she leaves behind. Her teachings and examples not only impacted her direct family and descendants, but also all those they came in contact with indirectly, leaving a tremendous legacy not many have ever matched in history.
